Video Case Study: Dundalk Credit Union - Community Engagement Programme
Founded in 1968, Dundalk Credit Union celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2018.
We place great importance on giving back to our Community because we believe that by doing so, we build a stronger, more sustainable community. By working together, we are all stronger. It’s what Dundalk Credit Union has always done and what we will continue to do in the future.
Our Strategic Plan and our 50th Anniversary programme allowed us to re-frame our guiding principles into a focussed Community Engagement programme. This programme – Community & Local Economic Development – has become one of the key pillars of our “Strategy 2021”.Our goal is to create a positive member experience and to have a positive impact on the local community.
As part of our Community & Local Economic Development programme we have established meaningful partnerships with the organisations that research showed ranked highly in the community. These organisations are Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT), Dundalk FC and the GAA.
Louth GAA
As official community partner of Louth GAA, our sponsorship programme invests in the Louth Development Squads (U14 to U17 levels in both hurling and football) and the DKIT Scholarship Program. It allows continued investment in underage squad development which benefits in excess of 200 Academy players annually from all areas of Co. Louth. The programme also provides increased funding to the Louth GAA/DKIT Scholarship programme.
